The Messiah must be at the gates, since I actually agree with Louis "nain jardin" Michel about something. In a summary of world reactions to Mahathir "barking moonbat" Muhammad's "Joos rule the world" speech in the NRC Handelsblad (in Dutch), Louis Michel is quoted as saying teh speech was "insane and completely antisemitic".
The NRC also quotes others. [My reverse translations.] Rotating EU-President Italy, through its FM: "Europe most deeply deplores the statements of the Malay PM". The US State Department: "It is not the first time we hear this from this ruler. His comments are insulting, inciting, ridiculous, and we hold them in contempt." Australian PM Howard used similar language, and added: "Any suggestion of dividing the world in Jewish and non-Jewish [spheres] is historically untenable and wrong." Israel's Foreign Ministry described the speech as "completely repulsive", "dangerous", and "inciting to hatred", but expressed lack of surprise, as "At this type of forum" [ICO, a conference of the 57 Islamic countries, "one seeks the lowest common denominator, which is usually Israel-bashing".
UPDATE: Best of the Web notes:
The Associated Press notes that at a European Union summit, weasel in chief Jacques Chirac blocked a European Union effort to condemn Mahathir's remarks as part of a final statement, "saying it had no place there."
UPDATE 2: Moonbat Muhammad gets a backhanded defense from, of all people, Zev Chafetz, who thinks the only way to tell the Muslim world to "stop blaming others for how f*cked up you are" is to wrap it up in thick slices of Israel-bashing claptrap. A bit like once upon a time Soviet geneticist had to sandwich their research between pages of Lysenkoist pseudoscience to get it published at all...
:-) I saw a dog and cat living together over on AtlanticBlog,
so the trumpets might be getting ready to sound.
:-( That speech was disgusting.
